Ackerman to make shoes in the Americas for Italian luxury brand

27/11/2014
Armando Martín Dueñas, whose Ackerman footwear brand became world famous following its presentation of a pair of shoes to Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI during a visit to Mexico in 2012, has said his company will start making shoes for the Americas for “one of the most important luxury brands in Italy”.

Speaking to local media at the time of the World Footwear Congress in the Mexican city of León at the end of November, Mr Martín Dueñas said he was finalising his partnership with the Italian company, which he declined to name. He said the deal would involve the León-based Ackerman team making the shoes under licence for the North, Central and South American markets.
