Volume up, value down for Brazilian shoes in first nine months

Brazil’s ministry for development, industry and overseas trade (MDIC) has reported footwear exports for the country of 94 million pairs, which is an increase in volume of 4% compared to the same month in September 2013.

In terms of value, shipments of shoes between January and September 2014 brought in just under $790 million in export revenues, a decline of 3% on the corresponding figure for 2013.
