Liberty aiming for growth in India

27/08/2014
Indian footwear group Liberty has told local media it is aiming to increase its turnover in the current fiscal year by 20% or 25%. This would take revenues to more than $100 million. It said it hoped to increase this further, to more than $150 million, by the end of fiscal year 2016-2017. In India, the financial year runs from April to March.

Liberty will spend more than $8 million in the current financial year to increase its retail network from 450 stores to around 550.

Group executive director, Anupam Bansal, said there were no plans to increase footwear production capacity for the moment, but said Liberty may consider an expansion in manufacturing capacity two years from now.
