Bates Footwear, a division of Wolverine Worldwide, has launched a new product called the Recondo jungle boot, a low-absorption, quick drying, durable leather boot aimed at defence forces working in jungle terrains.

President of the Bates Footwear brand, Onders Ors, said on announcing the product that there was a clear need for a new higher-tech jungle boot. He insisted the Recondo can meet that need, calling it a product that was “specifically engineered for the hot, wet and humid environments common in tropical regions”.

The Recondo boot has a blended upper, which includes a special lightweight, durable, water-, stain- and oil-resistant leather produced by tanners specifically for the group under the name Wolverine Warrior Leather.
