Magrit’s own-brand shop will be online only
High-end footwear brand Magrit has said it has no plans to open own-brand stores because it’s happy to keep running an online sales operation that “covers the whole world”.

In recent comments to media in Spain, Magrit said it had no plans to open its own stores, even in its home territory, because it does not want to enter into competition with the 50 multibrand footwear retailers there with whom it has built up strong partnerships over a long period of time.

However, the company has announced that its production for 2014 will probably show an increase of 30% in the volume of shoes it produced last year, around 150,000 pairs. It sells half of the shoes it makes under its own brand name, but produces the other half as an outsource manufacturing partner for other brands.
