Good quarter for Spanish shoes

Spain’s footwear industry exported 42.2 million pairs of shoes in the first quarter of this year and brought in export earnings of €734 million. These figures represent growth of 9.8% in volume and of 3.2% in value.

Leather footwear accounted for 65% of total income and achieved year-on-year growth of 13.% in volume and of 10.6% in value.

Women’s shoes accounted for 43.6% of total shoe exports during the quarter.
