Fall in Mexico’s footwear exports in Q1
20/05/2014
The country’s footwear exports over the three-month period had a value of $127 million in 2014, compared to $136 million in the same period in 2013. A fall in the value of exports to the US accounted for almost the whole of this decline, although the US is still, by far, the most important overseas market for the footwear industry in Mexico.
In the first quarter of 2013, Mexican footwear manufacturers brought in $93 million from exports to the US. In the same quarter this year, the total as $5 million lower at $88 million.
