Italian shoe brands head to Turkey for Aymod

Italian footwear manufacturers association Assocalzaturifici has announced it will take 27 of its member brands to Istanbul to take part in the 2014 edition of the Aymod exhibition.

Data on Italian exports to Turkey in the first eleven months of 2013 reveal a year-on-year increase of 11.3% in terms of value, reaching €63.3 million in total, and a 15.6% increase in the average price per pair of around €53.

“We are returning to Turkey because we believe in this market’s potential,” said Assocalzaturifici president, Cleto Sagripanti, just before the event. “We note the growth of the middle class and the increasingly mature taste of consumers and operators [in Turkey].”
