Born in New Zealand, Vic Butt moved to Denmark to study design and stayed in the Scandinavian country. He has specialised in footwear design since 2007, working as a freelance designer for a number of clients in Denmark and Portugal.
For Fred’s Shoes, he has said he wanted to create “a footwear equivalent of the little black dress or the plain white shirt”, in other words, a shoe that would work in many situations making it perfect for travelling.
“I want to bring people lifelong products,” he says. “Classic clothing and footwear that lasts is not only better for the consumer’s pocket, it’s also better for the environment.”
