German footwear firm to expand its operations in Portugal

Around 320 people work at the plant at the moment, but local media have said Ara is preparing to employ 50 more as part of an expansion programme in which it will increase production from 1.4 million pairs per year to 2 million.
As well as the increase in personnel, Ara has also recently invested around €3 million in direct injection production technology at the Seia factory.
