New Camper shoe features laces threaded through the upper

Mallorca-based footwear brand Camper has worked with Japanese design company Nendo to create a new shoe style called the Beetle.

The main feature of the design is the it uses elastic laces threaded through the uppers to create patterns across the whole surface.

Nendo said it had set out to create a lighter, more water-resistant version of an existing Camper style, the Peu Ideal, which features a stretchy lace secured with a knot at each end. To achieve this, it used nylon and polyurethane as the main materials in the new shoe.
