Yves Morin re-elected president of UITIC

The International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians (UITIC) has elected CTC chief executive, Yves Morin, as its president for a second term. Mr Morin was first elected to be president of UITIC in 2010.

Also on the executive committee of UITIC will be Malek Khelil from Tunisia as vice-president, Enrique Montiel from Spain as treasurer, and Franc¸oise Nicolas from France as general secretary. Other committee members will be Sergio Dulio from Italy, a regular contributor to World Footwear magazine, Leandro De Melo from Portugal, V.B. Parvatikar from India, Martyn Shorten from the US, Uwe Thamm from Germany, Ricardo Guerra Sanchez from Mexico and Li Yuzhong from China.

UITIC aims to develop technical knowledge in the footwear industry in particular by organising international conferences and setting up information exchanges between its members. In November 2013 it organised its 18th International Technical Footwear Congress in Guangzhou, China. During this congress more than 300 professionals and experts met to discuss a critical topic for the future of the industry: corporate social responsibility.
