India’s exports on the rise

India’s leather-sector exports increased by 17.1% in the first eight months of the current financial year, April-November 2013.

These exports brought revenue of $3.8 billion into the country in 2013, compared to $3.2 billion for the same months in 2012.

On announcing the figures, the Council for Leather Exports said footwear exports accounted for 41.5% of the total value, with 23.2% coming from leathergoods and 22.5% from finished leather.
