Designer launches own shoe brand because of lack of quality in the market

What she describes as a dearth of good-quality, stylish shoes for children has inspired UK-based designer Louise Shill to launch her own brand, Young Soles London.

Made from supple, full-grain leathers, suede and patents, using traditional methods and tooling, the first Young Soles London range will become available in the early part of 2014. Ms Shill sourced the leathers herself from a variety of European tanneries, basing her selection on softness, colour and texture to achieve “the perfect balance of comfort and style”.

Designs are inspired by classic styling and heritage, “re-inventing” well loved styles such as T-bar and Mary Jane for girls, and brogues for boys. For her inaugural range, Ms Shill has worked with outsource manufacturing partners in Portugal.
