New shoe stores prove popular in Greece

Entrepreneurship is still alive in Greece, in spite of the severe economic crisis the country is going through.

In 2012, according to a new study, Greek entrepreneurs launched 42,347 new businesses. And apart from cafés, bars and restaurants, the most popular sector for start-ups was footwear and apparel, with 2,100 new businesses in this category.

Shoe and clothes companies beat accounting and consultancy services into third place.
