Sympatex technology ‘will inspire others’

A jury of experts selected the four-layer footwear laminate, a mixture of polyester and polyamide, from more than 600 submissions.
Moisture is transferred from the foot to the lining and through an intermediate layer to the waterproof, windproof and breathable membrane. The moisture activates the hydrophilic membrane which speeds up the transmission of water vapour.
The jury commented: “We were impressed by the intelligent development of Sympatex, because the concept is well thought-out, from the yarn to the process system and the implementation in the product. The realisation of the precise problem of ‘moisture inside the shoe’ was solved brilliantly, and this technology will hopefully inspire other people.”
Stefan Brandt, director of footwear at Sympatex, will present the advantages of the technology at the Performance Forum of the Munich-based fair on 21 November at 10am.
