The Australian subsidiary of Denmark's Ecco Shoes has received the Export Association Diploma and HRH Prince Henrik's Medal for success in the Australian market.

Its general manager, Morten Lauge Jen, received the award in Sydney from the Danish royal couple in recognition of the success of the company, which has grown from one to 15 own-brand stores in 10 years.

"Ecco Shoes in Australia has implemented innovative marketing efforts despite limited resources relative to market size,” said consul general in Sydney Michael Hansen. “They have, among other things, organised the world's longest catwalk, which gave Australia, Sydney and the Ecco brand publicity.”

The Export Association Diploma and HRH Prince Henrik's Medal of Honour are awarded to individuals or Danish companies which have made an “outstanding contribution” to the promotion of Danish products and services abroad.
