Healthy rise for Bangladeshi footwear exports in July

According to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau, footwear worth $56.4 million was exported from the country in July, the first month of the current financial year, 2013-14.

This was a 34% increase compared with July last year.

The country exported finished leather worth $39.4 million in July, a 37% rise over last year.

The government has set an export target of $545 million for footwear for the financial year 2013-14 (July-June) and is targeting $459.7 million for finished leather exports.
