Alicante shoe brands earn ‘sustainable production’ certification

Three footwear firms from the province of Alicante have become the first in the Spanish footwear industry to earn certification under a new sustainable production programme.

An organisation called FILIN (Foundation for Local Innovation Initiatives) has developed a sustainable production certification programme for all manufactured goods, with the emphasis on local production.

The three footwear firms that have won accreditation are PieSanto and Dansi from Elche, and Igor, from the town of Almoradí.
