A men’s footwear designer from Germany has been chosen as the winner of the International Talent Support (ITS) competition held in Trieste, Italy, from 10 accessories designers based around the world.

Leonard Kahlcke is a student at the London College of Fashion and has won €5,000 to create a new collection which will appear at Paris-based trade show Modamont in September.

The judges included Elisabetta Barracchia of Vogue Accessori; Isabella Zegrini of Christian Dior Haute Couture Accessories; and Yasuhiro Mihara, a footwear designer for Puma.

The Modamont-sponsored competition was launched to support young talent by offering financial support and work placements as well as a platform for their designs.
