Canadian outdoor footwear brand Native Shoes, a specialist in lightweight EVA shoes and sandals, has been acquired by Scott Hawthorn, one of the company’s original founders, in addition to a small group of private investors. Mr Hawthorn will move from acting to full-time chief executive with immediate effect.

He said on announcing the acquisition that the investment into Native that this development will generate will provide the brand with the resources to strengthen partnerships and grow as a global brand. Expanding on this, he said: “We are laser-focused on expanding our efforts in the US, bolstering our operations, strengthening our supply chain and implementing systems globally that will better serve our partners and support our long-term growth.”
