New footwear textile from Invista

Taiwanese textile company Tiong Liong has collaborated with Invista to expand its Air Flow Technology (AFT) fabric with new knit constructions featuring enhanced abrasion and snagging resistance.

Targeted primarily for outdoor, athletic and safety footwear, the breathable fabrics can also be used in mesh applications in backpacks.

The Cordura AFT fabric collection now includes high tenacity polyester and nylon 6,6 offerings in a range of knits capable of foam or felt lamination and 3D spacer fabric constructions, suitable for sports shoes.

Cindy McNaull, Cordura brand director, said: “Our aim is to improve the end-user experience by supporting the development of lightweight products designed to withstand extreme conditions.”
