English golfer Justin Rose wore special, one-off shoes made by golf apparel brand Ashworth Golf while winning the the US Open Championship on June 16.

The last day of the competition at the Merion Golf Club near Philadelphia coincided with Father’s Day in many countries and this was the inspiration for Justin Rose’s shoes.

Ashworth Golf provided him with a customised pair of its Cardiff shoes featuring the new champion’s initials (JR) and the names of his two children, Leo and Lottie, on the heel.

This was his first win in a major championship.
