Djokovic debuts new version of adidas shoe in Paris

04/06/2013
Sports brand adidas has unveiled a new footwear partnership with the current world number-one tennis player, Novak Djokovic. The Serbian star wore the new shoes, called Barricade 7, at the 2013 French Open (Roland Garros) tournament at the end of May and start of June.

Novak Djokovic has worn adidas Barricade shoes for many years from personal choice, winning all six of the Grand Slam titles he has achieved so far while wearing the shoe.

Commenting on the new sponsorship deal that flowed from this preference, the player said: “The adidas Barricade is my favourite shoe. I have been wearing it for many years and have worn all the different generations. I have full confidence in the shoe and am very comfortable on the court when I wear it, which is essential for a tennis player. I have very specific dynamic movements, with a lot of splits and slides, so I need to have the right stability in the shoe, but also have an optimal weight and great performance. The Barricade offers me everything.”
