The Jinjiang Footwear International Exposition has opened its doors in China’s “footwear capital” today, and is hosting a record number of exhibitors.

Around 1,700 stands will display bags and leathergoods alongside footwear and components.

A new ‘technology’ area showing the design process has been described by organisers as a highlight for this year.

Jinjiang city is thought to be home to 20% of the global sports shoe industry, and supplies 40% of domestic demand for shoes.

The event runs until Sunday.
