Under Armour's footwear vice-president resigns

29/01/2013
The senior vice-president for footwear at US-based sportswear group Under Armour is to leave the company at the end of next month.

Gene McCarthy has overseen the company's efforts to grow market share in the shoe sector since 2009. He led a team that designed several well-received shoes, including a lightweight running shoe called the Spine and the Highlight football cleat.

The footwear division is poised to report a second full year of sales growth when it reports its 2012 results on January 31.

Chief operating officer Kip Fulks will take over management of the division.
