Puma appoints new general manager for Europe

25/01/2013
Sports brand Puma has announced that Volfango Bondi is its new general manager for Europe, with immediate effect. He succeeds Sergio Bucher, who has decided to leave the company. This follows the announcement towards the end of 2012 of the departures of executive chairman, Jochen Zeitz, and of chief executive, Franz Koch.

Mr Bondi will be based at Puma’s Headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany, and will report to chief commercial officer, Stefano Caroti. He will be responsible for “optimising the efficiency of Puma’s business model” in Europe, supported by the general managers of seven European areas DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), Iberia, UK and Benelux, France, the Nordics, eastern Europe and Italy. All seven will report directly to Mr Bondi.

Volfango Bondi joined Puma in 2009 and most recently held the position of director for global sales. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the sporting goods industry, having previously worked for Nike in his native Italy and in a pan-European role.
