Chatham takes inspiration from equestrian sport

24/01/2013
Outdoor footwear brand Chatham will unveil its second Country footwear collection at the MODA exhibition in Birmingham (February 17-19). Equestrian styles designed with three-day event rider Emma Hyslop will feature prominently, the company has said, adding that it believes ranges for equestrian sports and other country puruits complement well its marine collections.

Its designers have taken inspiration from traditional riding attire and collaborated with top eventer and brand ambassador, Emma Hyslop, on the range. With uppers in waterproof leather and sturdy soles for good grip, Chatham has said the range is designed for everyone who is passionate about the outdoor lifestyle.

Managing director, Philip Marsh, said on announcing the new collection: “Product innovation is critical to growth in the marketplace. As brand awareness continues to increase, we are delighted to be trading at 35% up on last year. These new collections for winter 2013 are a great opportunity to continue the momentum with our distributors and retailers. For the customer it’s about choice. With our Country range we’re offering choice in colours, styles and price points, which range from £59 up to £179.”

Key men’s styles include rugged boots Syracuse and Earl, Chelsea boots Ranger and Kensington, desert boots Orwell and Rambler, and country boots Chargot and Simetra. For women, the walking boots Morgan, Collingwood and Millie stand out. Other key styles include Chelsea boot Venice and high-leg country boots Whitaker, Blenheim and Duchess.
