Japan: surge in demand for Vietnamese shoes

14/01/2013
Exports of leather footwear from Vietnam to Japan are skyrocketing, due to the decline in orders from the EU, according to local press.

In the first 11 months of 2012, footwear worth $299 million was exported to Japan, a year-on-year increase of 35%.

Japan now takes 5% of Vietnam’s footwear exports, said Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
