High-end Italian footwear brand René Caovilla has opened its first Chinese store in the Yintai Center in Beijing’s central business district.

Italian handmade shoes are growing in popularity among wealthy Chinese consumers and commanding high prices in that market; René Caovilla is clearly aiming to command a share.

Based in the footwear hub of Riviera del Brenta near Venice, René Caovilla was founded in the middle of the twentieth century. The company went on to develop partnerships with some of the biggest names in international fashion, including John Galliano, Christian Dior and Valentino.
