In an effort to meet its corporate responsibility goals, US-based running shoe company Brooks Sports has chosen a suite of software that will provide analytics into environmental and social performance across its own operations and its supply chain.

Implemented by software company CloudApps, the suite can capture data ranging from electricity and water consumption at its offices to product transportation and human rights data in its supply chain.

Stacey Gamble, corporate responsibility manager at Brooks Sports, said: “A major focus is to understand the environmental and social impacts of our business and manufacturing processes. Having a solution that streamlines our data collection processes and allows for in-depth analysis of our performance will be crucial in demonstrating measurable outcomes and focusing our efforts for performance improvement.”

Brooks previously relied on spreadsheets and manual reporting, but the suite automates the capture, making reporting faster.

Peter Grant, CloudApps CEO said: “Brooks realises the impact it has on the environment can also influence turnover and employee retention. Carbon reporting is a tough challenge but CloudApps’ solution will help Brooks to become a better, more energy efficient and an authentically sustainable organisation.”
