Help for Mexican firms to attend Bogotá event

Mexico’s national association of suppliers to the footwear industry, ANPIC, has announced that it will provide funding of up to $3,000 to help Mexican companies take part in the EICI Colombia event in February, for leather, machinery and technology.

EICI will take place in Bogotá from February 5-8. Organisers sy it will attract 600 exhibitors and 12,000 visitors from all over the world.

ANPIC said Colombia’s footwear industry is currently producing around 50 million pairs of shoes a year, but that manufacturers there are finding it difficult to secure supply of high-quality materials, meaning there is a good opportunity there for Mexican suppliers of leather and components.

There is a free-trade agreement between the two countries.
