UITIC sets date for footwear congress

The International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians (UITIC) has announced its 18th International Technical Footwear Congress will be held in Guangzhou, China, from November 13 to 16, 2013, and will be organised by the China Leather Industry Association.

The key themes will be product and process innovation, consumer protection, business practice and know-how. Footwear manufacturers, retailers and experts will be invited to discuss “social responsibility: a challenge for the footwear industry” and innovation in the footwear market. Several visits of footwear factories are also planned.

The previous congress was held in Mexico City in October 2010, and was attended by more than 600 people from across the footwear industry.
