Twelve leading Indian footwear exporters returned from the Global Shoes exhibition in Düsseldorf earlier this autumn with orders worth around EUR 1 million and future orders with an estimated value of EUR 2.7 million.

According to the Indian Council for Leather Exports, the country’s exports of different categories of footwear to Germany increased from $217.2 million in 2006-07 to $353.8 million in 2011-12, growing at an average of 10.2% per year.
