DSW sets sights on 30 new stores

DSW, a US-based shoe and accessories retailer, has reported third quarter sales growth of 11.7%, as it continues with its growth plan that has seen 26 store openings this year.

It plans to open up to 30 new stores next year, to add to the 364 it currently operates across the US.

Its largest category, women's footwear, grew by 4% in the third quarter. Athletic footwear grew by 9%, men's footwear by 11% and accessories by 13%.

The company expanded its designer offering through its website, adding footwear, handbags and accessories from a number of international designers including Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Valentino and Jimmy Choo.

Sales for the third quarter, which ended on October 27, increased to $593 million. Net income was $50.1 million
