New system takes shoe fitting digital for Turkish group

29/10/2012
Turkish shoe retail group Shoe City has introduced a “certified shoe fitter” training and qualification system for in-store staff in its shops across the country.

Now, when a customer comes to  the shop, specially trained fitters measure the length and width of each customers feet with a special digital device and show the models, styles and last shapes that are most suited to each pair of feet.

Owner of the company, Basak Cilingiroglu, told local media at the time of the launch that she wanted to offer customers the most appropriate shoes for their feet rather than the styles that customers like best. She insisted that the message she wants to put across is that shoes that fit well will help people avoid foot health problems.
