16/10/2012
During the first nine months of the year, Wujiang in Jiangsu Province, China, exported $261 million of shoes, according to data published by the China Leather Industry Association – a 12.8% increase over the same period last year.

Most of the shoes produced in the city are exported to Japan, which has fared comparatively well in the global financial crisis, and officials are hoping to reach a 15% increase on last year by the end of 2012.

The local government has this year implemented several preferential policies to help grow the shoe export industry in the region.
