As well as the domestic market, the company wants to sell the new line in Cuba, Argentina, Uruguay and in various Central American countries.
Marseg executive director, Andrés Gwynn, said at the time of the launch that the company has the capacity to produce 60,000 pairs of Worksafe shoes and boots per month. But he said the company is planning to open a second factory in the city of San Lorenzo, investing $12 million in the project. San Lorenzo, a satellite city 10 kilometres from Asunción, is where Marseg has its existing base. The new facility will cover 12,000 square-metres of industrial space and use state-of-the-art equipment. Marseg has more than 1,000 employees.
Before launching its own brand, Marseg concentrated on producing 800,000 pairs a month of toe-caps (capelladas) for the Brazilian safety footwear market. It will continue to work with partners in Brazil.
