Hunter’s sales soar 38%

The company, which has two royal warrants, reported a 58% increase in sales in the UK, 11% in the US and 66% in the rest of the world. This amounted to a profit of £16 million for the Edinburgh-based company.
It has seen its customer base widen in recent years, after model Kate Moss wore its wellington boots to Glastonbury, adding festival goers and the fashion conscious to its usual market of farmers and the countryside set.
Private equity firm Searchlight Capital Partners last year took a controlling stake; brand management group Pentland was left holding a minority stake.
