GDS shoe exhibition heads for Shanghai
Trade fair organiser Messe Düsseldorf is tapping into growing enthusiasm for branded shoes and bags in Asia by staging GDS Select – Premium European Shoe Fair next April in Shanghai.
GDS Select will be held in its own pavilion alongside the China International Footwear & Leathergoods exhibition. More than 200 collections will be showcased at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre, and design competitions, seminars and lectures will complement the programme. Both fairs are only open to trade visitors from the fashion retail trade and industry.
The event will be supported by the China Commerce Association for General Merchandise, the state retail federation whose members include shopping centres, which will invite 1,000 buyers from department stores across China to a summit meeting for the shoe sector.
It will take place between April 17 and 19, 2013. Another edition of GDS Select is planned for autumn 2013 will run in parallel with the CHIC fashion fair in Beijing.
Last month, Italy-based shoe exhibition Micam announced it is launching a Shanghai edition next year, scheduled for earlier in April.
