A delegation from China is starting a 10-day trip to Italy and Spain to promote the Wenzhou Footwear International Research Centre, according to the China Leather Industry Association.

The centre is a new complex where technical research facilities are located alongside design and PR suites.

The delegates will visit leather and footwear associations, shoemakers and fashion designers to share knowledge and ideas, and hope to gain support for the project.

They will also invite Italian and Spanish shoemakers to take part in the upcoming Fashion Consumer Goods Expo, which will be held in Wenzhou city.
