Tunisian government will train new leather and footwear workers

28/08/2012
The authorities in Tunisia have announced that almost 38,000 training positions will be available for new workers to learn manufacturing trades from September. This represents an increase from just under 36,400 places available across the country this time last year.

This year, the government is prioritising the industries in which people will be placed, based on each sector’s potential contribution to the current development needs of the Tunisian economy. Workers’ hostels have been built in different parts of the North African country to accommodate the trainees.

Leather and footwear production are among the sectors the government has prioritised.
