Colombia imports $177.2 million of shoes in first five months
Colombia imported almost 25.7 million pairs of shoes worth $177.2 million in the first five months of 2012, according to the Colombian Association of Footwear and Leather Manufacturers (ACICAM).
China was the biggest exporter to the country, with more than 19 million pairs of shoes worth over $105 million in the first five months.
Vietnam ranked second in terms of value, with shoe exports to Colombia reaching $28 million or 16% of the total footwear import value. This equated to 1.16 million pairs of shoes from January to the end of May.
