Fire at footwear factory in Le Marche

A footwear manufacturing facility in Corridonia in eastern Italy has suffered damage after  fire broke out there.

Local media said the factory is owned by footwear firm Falp, which makes and sells high-end women’s fashion shoes under the brand name Majora. It was founded in 1920 and prides itself on using traditional methods and craftsmanship and quality materials to make its shoes.

Firefighters from nearby Macerata were able to reach the factory quickly and there were no injuries. There was some damage to materials, mainly caused by smoke, the local authorities said.
