New York’s last two Stride Rite locations will close by the end of August.

David Lamar, who operates Stride Rite stores in Stuyvesant Plaza in Guilderland and Clifton Park Center in Clifton Park, largely attributed the closures to the pending acquisition of the Stride Rite brand by Wolverine World Wide and two private equity firms.

Another Stride Rite location at Latham Circle Mall in Colonie closed earlier this year.
