Footwear still completely dominates Vietnamese leather sector exports

Vietnam’s total exports are estimated to have brought in $53.1 billion in revenues in the first six months of 2012. The share of leathergoods and leather footwear was $3.6 billion, according to data released by General Statistics Office of Vietnam.

Almost all of this revenue, more than $3.5 billion, came from leather footwear.
