Woodland to expand shoe store count in China
India-based footwear company Woodland is planning to increase its store count in China from 350 to 410. The expansion is expected to cost around 900 million rupees ($15.8 million).
The brand will also expand its production capacity from around 4.5 million pairs a year to around 6.5 million pairs.
Around 70% of production currently takes place at its own factories in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. The rest is outsourced to companies in Bangalore and Mumbai.
Turnover was approximately 700 million rupees in 2011 and is
expected to reach 1 billion in 2012.
