Sports footwear brand ASICS increased its net sales in Europe by 15.3% in 2011 compared to the previous year.

In making the announcement, it said sales in Europe of its running footwear had increased by 22% over the period, while performance apparel sales grew by 26%.

On announcing the results, the company’s Netherlands-based chief executive in Europe, Alistair Cameron, said: “In a challenging 2011, ASICS has performed well and delivered an outstanding 15% rise in revenues. We saw growth in all true performance categories and accelerated growth in trail running played an important role. The brand continues to be in great shape for 2012.”
