Timberland provides footwear for filmmakers and VIPs
Timberland is to sponsor two sustainable festivals this summer: Mountainfilm in Telluride (Colorado), and Wanderlust in Stratton (Vermont), Copper Mountain (Colorado), Squaw Valley (California) and Whistler (British Columbia).
As the official footwear sponsor of Mountainfilm, the brand will outfit filmmakers and other VIPs with footwear from its Earthkeepers collection.
This line is made from recycled and eco-conscious materials. Its Green Rubber outsoles, for example, are made from 42% recycled rubber, while its leathers are sourced from silver-rated tanneries and its PET linings and laces are made from recycled plastic bottles.
Timberland will serve as the official greening partner and Wanderlust hiking programme sponsor at Wanderlust. It will host a variety of onsite activities at each of the Wanderlust festivals to encourage people to become more environmentally aware.
"These new partnerships with Mountainfilm and Wanderlust provide an exciting opportunity for us to meet and engage with thousands of men and women who share our passion for protecting the outdoors," said Maile Buker, senior director of marketing for Timberland North America.
"At Timberland we do big and small things everyday to reduce our footprint and be good stewards of the earth. With our likeminded festival partners, we will celebrate eco-conscious innovation, alongside creativity and style, as we connect with consumers from coast-to-coast to work towards our goal of fostering a more sustainable environment."
