China: leather associations meet in Beijing

03/05/2012

The annual conference for China’s regional leather associations took place from 25-27 April, 2012, in Beijing, according to the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA). More than 80 representatives from leather associations and government departments attended.

The CLIA has named 2012 as ‘brand promotion year’, so this was the theme of the conference. Topics discussed include brand creation, pollution treatment and environmental protection within the industry. CLIA president Su Chaoying made a report on the situation of the leather industry in 2011, and made key points to work towards this year.
